{"id":1040,"date":"2022-02-16T10:41:17","date_gmt":"2022-02-16T10:41:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.allencarr.com\/?post_type=author-profiles&#038;p=1040"},"modified":"2025-09-21T06:45:58","modified_gmt":"2025-09-21T05:45:58","slug":"natalie-clays","status":"publish","type":"author-profiles","link":"https:\/\/www.allencarr.com\/en-us\/authors\/natalie-clays\/","title":{"rendered":"Natalie Clays"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"formatted-text \">\n\t<div class=\"container container--large\">\n\t\t<p><strong>Highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Head of Allen Carr\u2019s Easyway Australia, New Zealand and USA<\/li>\n<li>Senior Facilitator of Allen Carr\u2019s Easyway (treated an estimated 10,000 smokers)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Natalie is Director and Facilitator of Allen Carr\u2019s Easyway in Australia, New Zealand and the USA.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Born in the UK, Natalie worked as a buyer for a supermarket chain but was headhunted for a role in Sydney, Australia where she relocated in 2000.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, she relocated to Boulder, Colorado to set up operations in the USA (and indulge her love of skiing!)<\/p>\n<p>I tried my first cigarette at the age of 15, trying to look cool and trying even harder not to choke or vomit. It was vile and disgusting and made me feel ill but I was determined to learn how to do it. Twenty years later I was still smoking.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years I fell into every category of smoker; I was a regular pack-a-day smoker, a casual smoker, a secret smoker, a chain smoker.<\/p>\n<p>I tried to quit using patches, light relaxation, gum, herbs, lasers, needles, inhalators, lozenges and some tablets that made me depressed but I always lit up, eventually. In the end I decided I\u2019d rather smoke and be happy than quit and be miserable.<\/p>\n<p>Then a friend told me about Allen Carr. I was very nervous and sceptical. Why would this be different? What if it didn\u2019t work? What if it did? I\u2019d never be able to smoke again!<\/p>\n<p>After the session, I wasn\u2019t sure how to feel. Had it worked? How would I know? What would happen next? And that was it. Nothing happened. No awful withdrawals, no anxiety, no inability to function, I simply didn\u2019t smoke anymore.<\/p>\n<p>Seventeen years later, I haven\u2019t smoked a single cigarette nor have I wanted to. In fact, right now I can\u2019t think of anything worse than having to smoke a cigarette.<\/p>\n<p>That session changed my life. Not only did I quit smoking, I decided to train as an Allen Carr facilitator.
