The endless pages of testimonials which are left on our website tell their own story (there are thousands and thousands of them).<br><br>Having said that \u2013 it\u2019s even more wonderful when we receive even more detailed information about those who quit smoking with us. <br><br>My name is <strong>Dawn Sanheim<\/strong> and I had been a pack-a-day smoker since I was 16 years old. I\u2019m 44 now. I had quitted smoking once using a prescription medication, but unfortunately, my Brother-in-Law was involved in a motorcycle accident and the stress of that sent me right back to cigarettes.\nI hadn\u2019t learned how to handle that kind of stress. I remember thinking, \u201cjust this one, that\u2019s it!\u201d Soon (as you guessed) I was borrowing cigarettes off friends and eventually ended up buying half packs and throwing them away when I was feeling guilty, but it quickly progressed back to a pack a day.<br><br>Four years later I had a life changing event. My first Granddaughter\u2026.I met her on December 4, 2006. It\u2019s true what they say about Grandkids\u2026.\u201dIt\u2019s too bad you can\u2019t have them first\u201d. My whole world changed. I couldn\u2019t have imagined the love I would have for such a beautiful little person.<br><br>Shortly after she came along though my daughter moved out of the area I live in and I wasn\u2019t able to see her very often. A couple years went by and she finally decided to move back, Melody was 2. As I spent more and more time with her, I realized I wanted to spend more and more time with her. But I quickly learned that if I was smoking I couldn\u2019t\/wouldn\u2019t be around her for her own health and safety. I was taking away that special time with my beautiful granddaughter for something that could ultimately take my life and end our lifetime together\u2026..how incredibly selfish of me.<br><br>I decided enough was enough! I wasn\u2019t going to miss another cherished memory with my granddaughter.\nI had heard about Allen Carr\u2019s quit smoking book from a co-worker and thought\u2026\u201dwhy not, it can\u2019t hurt\u201d. Well, it was the best $20 I\u2019ve ever spent. I read the book and haven\u2019t smoked since\u2026.that was over 2 years ago. I never ever get cravings or feel like having a cigarette, I\u2019m rarely ever unwell, I smell nice \ud83d\ude42 , and now when I see my granddaughter we get to spend every minute together\u2026.laughing, giggling and having fun.\nIn fact, I\u2019m about to go on a 12 hour car ride with her and couldn\u2019t be more excited.<br><br>We are making memories that she and I will have for the rest of our lives. 28 years after my first cigarette I finally feel that I am completely free. There is no a doubt in my mind that I will never smoke again. No longer do I have that rancid smell following me around embarrassing me, no more cleaning filthy ashtrays, no more looking like a fool standing outside in the freezing cold puffing away, no more planning my day around a cigarette. My days are all for me now. I feel incredibly confident that my days of smoking are all behind me and I will forever be thankful for Allen Carr for bringing me such insight.<br><br>My life has changed so incredibly in the last couple years and it all began with a book. Thank you!
