Often newspapers, magazine, and TV program contact us to interview people who have quitted smoking using the method.<\/p>\n<p>We thought it would be great to share some of these here.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Name<\/strong>: Julia M<\/p>\n<p><strong>Year of Birth<\/strong>: 1982<br \/>\n<strong>Address<\/strong>: Ontario Canada<\/p>\n<p><strong>Occupation<\/strong>: Homemaker<\/p>\n<p><strong>Have you tried to quit before and if so, which methods have you tried?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I have quit (sort of) when I was 18 years old. I just tried quitting without using any method but never fully kicked the habit as I still smoked when I drank alcohol.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Did you quit smoking using an Allen Carr book or by attending an Allen Carr\u2019s Easyway center session?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I was able to forever kick my habit using Allen Carr\u2019s book, and I\u2019ve recommended it to everyone I know!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Briefly describe your thoughts on the book\/center session:<\/strong> I think the book is such an eye opener and Allen really put everything into perspective, well written.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Approx date that you quitted smoking?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>August 14, 2011 (yes, that exact day. And I wasn\u2019t completely finished the book yet but knew it was time)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Briefly describe the impact on your life of having quitted smoking:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m proud. Proud to be healthier, proud to be a mother that does not smoke, proud to be a wife that does not smoke, proud to not smoke in public. Everyday I see a smoker, whether walking or driving their car, and everyday I\u2019m so grateful that I\u2019m not poisoning myself any more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is there something special which you have achieved since you quitted smoking?<\/strong> <strong>Did you quit smoking for a specific reason? Any interesting angles that you can highlight about your case would be very useful (but not essential)<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Prior to quitting smoking I was 180lbs and unhappy with my health. I knew I had to quit \u201csoon\u201d, my husband is a non-smoker and hated the fact that I was a smoker. I started reading Allen Carr\u2019s quit smoking book (I\u2019m not a big fan of reading so it was taking a while) in August of 2011. My family and I had planned a one week vacation at a cottage up North and I said to myself, I\u2019m going to quit on vacation. My reason was that if I could quit during a time that I would smoke much more than usual I could deal with day to day life just fine.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone who\u2019s a smoker would probably agree, on vacation you smoke way more than you do on any regular day. My first day of vacation I smoked an entire pack! By day two of my vacation I felt confident in what I had read and I believed in Allen method and I decided to believe in myself. That night I sat around the campfire with my husband, mother and step father and one by one I threw my smokes into the inferno. I haven\u2019t smoked since.<\/p>\n<p>Not only that \u2013 but I am now only 133lbs \u2013 losing weight as well as stopping smoking was such a bonus \u2013 and I\u2019m much much happier and healthier than I\u2019ve ever been in my life. I lost nearly 50lbs over the last year and I know that the motivation to do that came from the rush that I got when I finally quit smoking.
