I even enjoyed the process of quitting and it was nothing of a cure, nothing of a psychological sermon, nothing of a brainwashing, nothing of a hard philosophical book. It was extremely welcoming, easy and enjoyable to read. I don’t really know what to say, I didn’t expect that before reading the book, I was very sceptical before opening it actually and thought it might be one of those infinitely many boring …

The History of Allen Carr’s Easyway to Stop Smoking Method
Allen Carr became a qualified accountant in 1958. He was successful in his chosen profession, but his hundred-cigarettes-a-day addiction was driving him to despair. In 1983, after countless failed attempts to stop with the aid of the willpower method, he finally discovered what the world had been waiting for – the Easy Way to Stop Smoking.
After leaving accountancy to help cure the world’s smokers, Allen built up a global reputation as a result of the phenomenal success of his method. He is now recognized as the world’s leading expert on helping smokers to quit. Smokers used to have to fly from all over the world to attend his clinic in London; now his network of clinics spans the globe.
His organisation, Allen Carr’s Easyway, has clinics in more than 150 cities in over 45 countries.
Allen Carr’s Easyway to Stop Smoking is now an international bestseller, selling over 13 million books in more than 38 different languages. His second book, The Only Way to Stop Smoking Permanently, and DVD, audio and CD-ROM versions of his method are also available. In his subsequent publications, Allen Carr’s Easyweigh to Lose Weight and Allen Carr’s Easyway to Stop Drinking, he applied the same simple logic to weight-loss and alcohol, so that it becomes easy and enjoyable, as those attending his clinics have discovered.
Thousands of smokers have become happy non-smokers easily and painlessly by attending one of Allen Carr’s Easyway clinics, where, with a success rate of more than 90 per cent, Allen Carr’s Easyway guarantees that you will find it easy to quit or your money back.
Sadly Allen Carr died on 29th November 2006.
He was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer in the summer of 2006. It seems probable that the years he spent curing smokers in smoke-filled sessions at his clinics may have contributed to this illness.
Before his death Allen remarked “Since I smoked my final cigarette, 23 years ago, I have been the happiest man in the world, I still feel the same way today”.
Everyone at Allen Carr’s Easyway continues to work tirelessly to ensure that Allen’s legacy achieves its full potential and the worldwide organisation continues to grow at an exceptional rate.
How to Quit Smoking
Using psychotherapy, the method works in the opposite way to the “willpower” method. It does not concentrate on the reasons the smoker should not smoke : the money, the slavery, the health risks and the stigma. Smokers know all that already. Instead it focuses on why smokers continue to smoke in spite of the obvious disadvantages.
It is fear that keeps smokers hooked!
Fear the smoker will have to give up their pleasure or crutch. Fear the smoker will be unable to enjoy life or handle stress. Fear the smoker will have to go through an awful trauma to get free. Fear the smoker will never get completely free from the craving.
The Method removes these fears
Smokers quit smoking with Allen Carr’s Easyway Method as happy non-smokers, not feeling deprived but with a huge sense of relief and elation that they have finally achieved what they always wanted….
TO BE FREE!
What about the terrible withdrawal pangs from nicotine?
The physical withdrawal from nicotine is so slight that most smokers don’t realise that they are addicts. What smokers suffer when they try and quit using other methods is the misery and depression caused by the belief that they are being deprived of a pleasure or a crutch.
Allen Carr’s Easyway Method removes this feeling of deprivation.
It removes the need and desire to smoke. Once the smoker is in the right frame of mind and they follow the simple instructions, the physical withdrawal from nicotine is hardly noticeable.
The Method does not use any gimmicks, useless aids or substitutes. No nicotine gum, patches, lozenges, tabs, inhilators or nasal sprays! No needles! No lasers! No drugs! No herbs! No shock treatment!
Allen Carr’s Easyway Method is successful because:
- It removes the smokers’ conflict of will.
- There are no bad withdrawal pangs.
- It is instantaneous and easy.
- It is equally effective for long-term heavy smokers and light smokers.
- You need not gain weight.
- You will not miss smoking.
