I’ve had a fear of flying ever since I can remember. When I was little I never went on a plane, and I was 19 when I first flew. Regardless of the fact I hadn’t flown before I was terrified. I flew 6 more times after that and each time my ‘fear’ made the expierience even more traumatic, so I decided I won’t fly again, you can drive to Spain, right? Well 4 years went by and I was offered and amazing opportunity, but for which I had to fly! I ummed and arred and finally agreed, though was winding myself up months before going. The week before I flew, a friend of mine recommended ‘Allen Carrs Easyway’, though I thought nothing could make me enjoy flying, I thought I’d still give it a go. I finished the book the morning I was due to fly and was still a little nervous. I got on the plane and I was apprehensive but much more relaxed than I had ever been before. Up in the air and who knew it, i was SO relaxed! I understood what was going on, and didn’t think the plane was about to crash land every time there was an odd noise. The book helped me to understand more and realise how safe flying actually is. I flew home this morning and I was actually looking forward to the flight! Before take off the captain announced we would probably expierience some turbulence, but I just reminded myself of little snippets from the book.. ‘uncomfortable if may be, but dangerous it is not’ and ‘just like driving over cobblestones’, and I was absolutely fine! To anyone who finds flying traumatic I would 100% recommend this book!
And guess who has been trying to loose weight and failing.. 3 guesses what book I will be reading next!
Thank you Allen Carr, due to you and your book I am sure to say I can experience wonders of the world that I never thought I would due to my fear!
