When Allen Carr first interviewed me – way back in 1998 – he looked through my résumé and remarked that it didn’t really tell him what he wanted to know about me. I was so used to corporate life it never occurred to me that the perfect CV or résumé for someone who wanted to become an Allen Carr’s Easyway therapist should feature all the ‘stuff’ you wouldn’t normally dream of putting on a regular application. He wanted to know how bad a smoker I had been, how many drugs I’d taken, how hard they were, and to what extent I had gone to get my hands on them.

One of the essentials to being an Allen Carr’s Easyway therapist is that you should have used the method successfully yourself and that you should have suffered the specific addiction that you wished to specialise in.

How can you possibly relate to a client addicted to heroin, cocaine, amphetamines, marijuana, or prescription drugs if you’d never been a victim to those drugs yourself?

The seminars at our London centre have been so successful – we were even able to apply the same money back guarantee to them as we’ve applied at our stop smoking seminars for more than 30 years. Quit the drug to which you are addicted – or you get your money back. We’ve deliberately avoided exploitative fees for them as we’re absolutely determined to make them as widely available as possible. They’re a tiny fraction of the cost of checking into The Priory, for example, and centres like that won’t ever offer a money back guarantee.

Drug addiction spreads across all age ranges and professions and it has been such a pleasure to move Allen Carr’s method into an area where it can have such an amazingly positive impact on people’s lives.

Do we do drugs? Yes, we do. Or maybe I should be more clear, we provide a simple, easy, effective route to freedom for anyone who wants to get there.
